Biography
Kaoruko has created a profession of her own: Underwater Reporter. After graduating from University in Japan in 2010, she has traveled around the world to report on and share her underwater explorations. Her work has included appearances on many popular Japanese TV programs, and she is even the Tourism Ambassador ‘Queen’ for Atami City and Izu-Oshima Island in Japan.
In 2019, Kaoruko became the first female Japanese certified whale swim guide in the Kingdom of Tonga. In addition to whales, she facilitates marine life encounters for visitors with ocean animals like dolphins, marlins, and sea lions. “I aim to preserve the beautiful nature and sceneries we are enjoying now, and pass it onto the next generations,” says Kaoruko.
