Biography
Alexander Rendell’s fondness for the environment first started at the age of 10 when he was part of wild elephant rescue missions. As a regular on these excursions, he started to learn the importance of conservation; this growing fascination at an early age developed into a passion for environmental conservation, and for this reason Rendell believes that environmental education must start with the youth.
Today, the award-winning actor and singer uses his fame for the good of the planet: Alex is a passionate conservationist and advocate dedicated to educating and raising awareness on environmental conservation. Rendell co-founded the Environmental Education Centre Thailand (EEC) in 2015, whose mission is to educate and influence kids from 4 years and older to recognize their involvement in the conservation of natural resources around the world.
EEC has successfully conducted 170 education camps over the last four and a half years, educating more than 10,000 students nationwide. As a PADI Instructor, Alex teaches students to become researchers and protectors of the ocean by teaching them snorkeling, fish identification, marine science, scuba diving, and educating them to become environmental advocates. “My mantra is simple,” says Rendell. “I educate to conserve.”
