Apo island is a marine sanctuary (protected in 1986, first and oldest in the Philippines) off the southern end of Negros Oriental in the Philippines and is one of the premier dive locations in the country. There are roughly 10-12 dive sites around the island including advanced disciplines such as deep and drift dives. Incredible coral gardens, lots of turtles and sea snakes, nudibranchs, giant frogfish, and may other fish species abound as well as the occasional pelagics. This is another must do day of diving if you are in this area. The coral gardens alone are worth the price of admission! Bong Bongo is my fave operator in the area.
