Italy boasts an extremely long coastline, myriad islands and warm, clear water inviting you to slip beneath the surface. Portofino, the birthplace of Italian diving is more than worth a visit to enjoy one of the many top class dive sites dotted along the coast. Sicily, Italy’s largest island, offers many opportunities to dive in some of the country's warmest water. And these are just a couple of the possibilities, - from caverns, caves, tunnels to shipwrecks and over 450 islands, there is enough variety to satisfy any diver and adventurer's tastes.
Dive Safely
The global scuba diving community continues to confront the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but we want to keep diving dreams alive for all our divers. Safety is our main priority, so we urge you to take recommendations from local authorities seriously and follow any guidelines in place. If you are in a location where diving is advisable, make sure to contact your local PADI Dive Shop to find out all the safety protocols they have put in place. You can also follow the personal hygiene tips put out by the WHO and consider additional safety procedures for scuba diving such as:
- Sanitize dive equipment (among other recommendations from DAN).
- Use defog solution instead of saliva.
- Do not share a mouthpiece with your buddy.
