Diving in Port St. Lucie, Florida, provides access to the beautiful waters of the Treasure Coast, known for colourful reefs, exciting drift dives and thrilling shipwrecks. While the city itself is more inland, nearby spots like Jupiter, Stuart, and Fort Pierce offer exceptional underwater experiences. Blue Heron Bridge is known for its easy shore dive and incredible biodiversity, making it a great site for all levels, especially macro photographers. There is also Jupiter Wreck Trek, Loggerhead Reef, and the famed shark dives. Divers can explore coral reefs teaming with tropical fish, sea turtles, reef sharks and the occasional Goliath grouper.  The area is famous for drift diving, where the Gulf Stream current carries divers along. Whether you're a beginner or more experienced diver, the region promises memorable encounters and scenic underwater landscapes. 

When to dive Port St. Lucie

The best time to dive in Port St. Lucie is May through September. During these months water temperatures range between 78 and 85 degrees F and visibility is 60 to 100 feet on average. These months offer the calmest waters and lighter winds making boat trips easier. Marine life is also most active during this time. Winter diving is possible, but water temperatures drop to around 72 degrees and conditions are less predictable.
