Islote el Pelado is an underwater park very rich in biodiversity and shallows with varied depths that allows practicing various diving specialties such as deep, nocturnal, currents, fish recognition and sunken ships.
It is the ideal place for training in the main PADI diving courses and an excellent site for macro photography. It is located 20 minutes from Ayangue, a small coastal town on the Ruta del Spondylus. Located in the province of Santa Elena, 150 kilometers from Guayaquil, bounded to the north by the San Pedro Commune, to the south by the Palmar Commune, to the east by the Colonche parish and the mountain range of the same name and to the west by the Pacific Ocean.
On Ayangue beach and its Islote El Pelado is ideal for diving at any time of the year.
From December- April the weather is sunny, attracting sea lions, eagle rays, moray eels and turtles.
Between the colder months of June-October, the humpback whales and giant mantas have been spotted.
