The top of the rock can break the surface in places, the shallows top of the rock is covered in short algaes. Then the rock slopes sharply downwards towards the bouldery sand line. The rocks take on a colourful look due to the encrusting life and deeper down colourful sponges reside. Deep vertical cracks tin the rock can be home at certain times of the year to migrating packhorse lobsters. On the sand john dory patrol the rock and the heads of snake eels can be spotted. The currents get very strong here which brings through the nutrients, but divers need to be aware of the sea conditions.
