Named after the adjacent Rancho Paraiso (in Spanish), Paradise Reef is located directly South of the Puerta Maya international cruise ship terminal dock. This dive site is the Northernmost reef of the Cozumel Reefs Natural Preserve. A popular shallow dive site, this reef is split into two parallel sections at different depths. The deeper section is 50 feet at its deepest point. Paradise features a mild current northbound current, however, its direction can vary at any time. Because of its proximity and mild drift, this is a popular site for beginner divers as well as one of the best Night Dives in Cozumel.
Typical marine life in Paradise Reef includes the famous Splendid Toadfish, angelfish, white grunts, snappers, and other tropical fish swimming among sponges and gorgonians.
