Ventura Dive & Sport

Established in 1989, Ventura Dive & Sport has made every effort to remain ahead of the curve in both recreational diving and diver education. Now in our 20th year, our training department includes two full-time PADI Course Directors, each being dedicated to the safe instruction and the enjoyment of scuba diving. In addition to these two individuals who hold the highest instructor rating offered by PADI, Ventura Dive & Sport also boasts more Master Instructors than any other dive center in California as well as a support staff of Instructors and Divemasters who are waiting to share their knowledge and experience with you.

ANACAPA - Originally named Las Mesitas or "Little Tables" by explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542 Anacapa Island lies at 34.004 north latitude -119.39 W longitude and just 40 minutes from Ventura Dive & Sport. Anacapa is made up of three islets with the largest at a length of two miles and rising 930ft above sea level. In 1932 an automated lighthouse and beacon were installed and are in use today with a few modifications for modern navigation. The island became part of the Channel Islands National Park by act of Congress in 1980 and is part of 125,000 square acres of federally protected recreation area.

SANTA CRUZ - offers extraordinary diving. The island is blessed with countless coves offering protection from wind and weather, and as a by product excellent diving. In some areas urchin of every variety turn the sea scape purple and red, while other areas offer chances to dive with California Sea Lions and Harbor Seals. The area is either home to or on the migration route of 27 species of whales and dolphin and 5 species of pinnipeds. Whatever your diving preferences are you are likely to find them here.
