Kira Kira: An Intimate Eco-Friendly Phinisi Adventure in Raja Ampat and Komodo

Kira Kira is a beautiful 22-meter Phinisi, hand-crafted by the Konjo Boat Builders of South Sulawesi over two years. Launched in 2014, this sailing vessel was designed for stability, comfort, and eco-friendliness, making it perfect for exploring the stunning regions of Raja Ampat and Komodo. The boat’s double Ironwood keel, Bitti timber ribs, and thick Teak deck offer a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern safety. With a maximum capacity of 8 passengers in 4 cabins, Kira Kira provides an intimate and personalized diving experience.

Kira Kira is all about adventure and freedom, where the itineraries are just a guide, and the crew’s passion for exploration leads to spontaneous beach BBQs, sunset hikes, and visits to see Komodo's dragons. The vessel’s flexible schedule ensures you’ll avoid crowded dive sites, allowing you to experience world-class diving in solitude. Between dives, the crew will happily strap kayaks onto the boat to explore secluded beaches where baby white tip sharks might swim around your ankles.

The cabins are naturally vented, crafted from Kendoli and Teak, and feature large beds, storage lockers, and traditional brass portholes for stunning sea views. Kira Kira runs on solar power, providing a quiet, environmentally-friendly journey. The boat also offers clean freshwater stored in its 2000-liter tanks, and a charging station for electronics is available daily.

For relaxation, you can lounge on the sundeck or in the open-air lounge, enjoying cold beers and breathtaking sunsets. The vessel's two shared bathroom facilities are equipped with modern appliances and traditional handcrafts. Meals are a highlight, with the Indonesian cook preparing freshly-caught fish, Indonesian and Western dishes, homemade bread, and sweet treats. The crew is happy to accommodate special dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan options, ensuring everyone is well-fed and content throughout the journey.
