I can't believe I am the first to have written a review of Monad Shoal. First of all, this is an advanced dive, no way around it. It tends to be deep, around 30 meters to the top of the shoal in most places, and there is oftentimes some current. There are some corals and sea fans, some macro stuff, nice walls and plenty of space for tec divers to enjoy the deeper shelves and walls. But, the star of the show here is.... THRESHERS! The local guides and DMs say they can't "guarantee" a thresher sighting, but, it is about as close as you can get. I did several dives here in 2006 and in 2019, and never went without seeing a thresher. Sometimes faint in the distance, sometimes unbelievably close. If you are lucky you get the occasional whale shark and manta, and if you are REALLLLLY lucky a tiger shark or hammerhead MAY swim by (Both of those are more common, but not "common", at Kimud Shoal). High recommended dive, a must do if you are in Malapascua. DO NOT MISS
