Biography

Tomoka Fukuda, a PADI Freediver Instructor and competitive freediving athlete from Hokkaido, Japan, has been a driving force in promoting freediving and environmental conservation. She began her freediving journey in 2011, achieving a depth of 80 meters within two years and she reached the mythical depth of -100 meters in constant weight in the Cayman Islands in 2018 becoming the fifth woman in the world to accomplish this feat. Now based in Okinawa, she actively trains, teaches freediving, and works to inspire others to explore the underwater world. Dedicated to preserving the ocean, Tomoka organizes beach cleanups in Okinawa and participates in cleanup efforts after competitions, blending her passion for the sport with her commitment to sustainability.

Career Highlights

  • 2011: Began competitive freediving
